PMPC SUCCESSFULLY HOLDS 2022 CELEBRITY BADMINTON TOURNAMENT

Moving on in the new normal, the Philippine Movie Press, Inc. (PMPC) has successfully pulled off a celebrity charity fun game last April 8, 2022, at Powerplay Badminton Center located at #24 Apo St., Quezon City.
Dubbed the 6th PMPC Celebrity Badminton Tournament, this fund- raising project of the Club started in 2014 and it had a two-year hiatus in 2020-2021 due to the global health pandemic brought about by COVID-19. Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte led the celebrity guests who graced the much-awaited sports event. The lady mayor lauded the PMPC for its initiative in holding sports event after the pandemic. She also encouraged members of the entertainment media to avail of the various available services of the LGU such as affordable medical for QC residents and business loan for those who want to venture on startup businesses. Paolo Marcoleta from the office of Cong. Rodante Marcoleta also graced the event. Actress beauty queen Sarah Javier came in full force with her family. Meanwhile, celebrities who supported and joined the tournament included Nino Muhlach with sons Sandro and Alonzo, Jao Mapa with teenage daughter Stacy, Neil Coleta, Krista Miller, Nikka Valencia and daughter Nica, Direk Martin Mayuga, Ally Gonzales, Kristof Garcia, Janah Zaplan, Klinton Start, Erin Ocampo, and Ms. Teen USA Ysabella Alberto.
The tournament was made possible through the support of various friends and sponsors of the PMPC, namely: QC's Office of the Mayor, NET 25, Former QC Mayor Herbert Bautista, Wilbert Tolentino, Atty. Ito ang 6th PMPC Celebrity Invitational Badminton Tournament na isang fund-raising project ng nasabing samahan na nagsimula pa noong taong 2014. Bagamat hindi ito isinagawa nitong nakalipas na dalawang taon, 2020-2021, dahil sa pandemyang hatid ng COVID-19 o Corona Virus Disease 2019 sa buong mundo. Malugod na pinangunahan ni Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte ang pagdalo sa pagbalik ng sports event ng club. Binigyang papuri ng alkalde ang PMPC sa pagsasagawa ng ganitong klase ng aktibidad ngayong tuluyang bumaba na ang mga kaso ng COVID-19 sa bansa. Hinikayat din ni Mayor Joy na i-avail ang iba't ibang serbisyong handog ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Lungsod Quezon, tulad ng tulong medikal para sa mga lehitimong residente nito at ang pautang para sa mga nais magsimula ng negosyo.
Dumating din ang aktor na si Paolo Marcoleta na anak ni Cong. Rodante Marcoleta. Maging Ang aktres at beauty queen na si Sarah Javier ay namataan din kasama ang kanyang buong pamilya.
